OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALLS HELD ON FEBRUARY 3, 2011, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND NEXTERA ENERGY SEABROOK, LLC, TO CLARIFY INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE REVIEW OF THE SEABROOK STATION LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (TAC NO. ME3959)

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC (NextEra or the applicant), held a telephone conference call on February 3, 2011, to clarify information in the applicanfs license renewal application (LRA) regarding monitoring of certain fish, squid, and shellfish with essential fish habitat (EFH) in the vicinity of Seabrook Station. NextEra clarified that long-finned and short-finned squid are not specifically examined in entrainment or impingement studies. The applicant explained that, to their knowledge, an impinged squid has never been observed within the Seabrook Station cooling system. The applicant also clarified that Seabrook Station entrainment monitoring studies include bluefin tuna, surf clams, and sea scallops; Seabrook Station impingement monitoring studies include bluefin tuna. The telephone conference call was useful in clarifying the information in the LRA relating to fish with EFH in the vicinity of Seabrook Station. provides a listing of the participants.
