I NOTICE OF FILING OF APPLICATION FOR INCREASE IN ELECTRIC REVENUES:

2005 ANNUAL EARNINGS ASSESSMENT (AEAP)

Application 05-05-005 On May 2, 2005, Southern California Edison Company ("SCE") filed an application with the California Public Utilities Commission ("CPUC") asking for changes in SCE's electric revenues. The application requests that the CPUC authorize an increase of $1.052 million in electric revenues. If approved by the CPUC, the electric revenue requirement will increase electric rates by less than 0.1%, most likely effective in 2006.

ANNUAL EARNINGS ASSESSMENT PROCEEDING (AEAP)

SCE has several programs to encourage its customers to install energy efficiency measures. The CPUC adopted mechanisms to reward SCE for successful programs. The 2005 AEAP proceeding verifies SCE's success and the amount of the earnings claim. The 2005 AEAP includes SCE's earnings claim (or portions of earnings claims) that SCE is eligible to receive for its energy efficiency programs delivered to customers over the past eight years, at a cost of $1.052 million.

SCE's illustrative allocation of the $1.052 million in electric revenue requirement increase is shown in the table below:

At the hearings, SCE, the CPUC's independent Office of Ratepayer Advocates (ORA) and other interested parties may present testimony. Parties may offer proposals that differ from those presented in this application.

After considering all evidence presented, the CPUC will issue a decision on this application. The actual plan adopted by the CPUC may differ from what is requested by SCE in its application.

If you would like to send comments or concerns about this application to the CPUC, or if you would like to participate in the hearings, please contact the CPUC's Public Advisor at the address shown below.
