Response to 'NRC Inspection Report No. 50-397/86-21 Thank you for your letter dated August 22, 1986 informing us of the steps you have taken to correct the items which we brought'to your attention in our letter dated July 25, 1986'.

Your corrective actions will be verified during a

future inspection.

Regarding your RWP requirements which applied during maintenance on the residual'eat removal system, we accept Pour position that continuous health physics coverage was not essential during wet lapping of the RHR-V-53B valve seat.

Consequently, we have deleted part 1 of violation II.
