Areas Inspected: Licensee actions related to the opening in the physical barrier were reviewed in conjunction with the applicable aspects of the following IE inspection procedures: Security Plan and Implementing Procedures; Management Effectiveness; Physical Barriers - Vital Areas and Compensatory Measures. IE Information Notice 86-83, " Underground Pathways into Protected Areas, Vital Areas, Material Access Areas, and Controlled Access Areas" was also reviewed for its relevanc Results: The licensee appeared to have utisfactorily addressed the issues related to the barrier opening. Since temperatures within the opening prevented any conclusive penetration testing this issue will be considered an unresolved item until testing can be completed or until the opening has been modified. Their actions appeared to be consistent with security plan commitments and IE Information Notice 86-83.
