Subject:

COLUMBIA GENERATING STATION, DOCKET NO. 50-397 2012 ANNUAL ENVIRONMENTAL OPERATING REPORT

Dear Sir or Madam:

This letter is submitted per the reporting requirements of Section 5.4.1 of the Columbia Generating Station Environmental Protection Plan (EPP; Appendix B to Facility Operating License No. NPF-21).

There were no EPP noncompliances in 2012 and there were no changes in station design or operation, tests, and experiments that involved an unreviewed environmental question. No non-routine, non-radiological reports (within the context of EPP Section 5.4.2) were required for 2012. A summary of the effluent data reported to the State of Washington Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council on the monthly discharge monitoring reports is attached.

There are no commitments being made to the NRC by this letter. Should you have any questions or desire additional information regarding this report, please call BC Barfuss at (509) 377-4541.

Respectfully, DK Atkinson Vice President, Employee Development/Corporate Services Attachment cc: NRC Region IVAdministrator NRC NRR Project Manager NRC Sr. Resident Inspector - 988C AJ Rapacz - BPA/1 399 WA Horin - Winston & Strawn
