5 ENCLOSURE EMERGENCY RESPONSE DATA SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION PLAN Generic Letter (GL) 89-15 was issued by the NRC in August 1989 to encourage licensees to voluntarily install an Emergency Response Data System (ERDS).

The ERDS is capable of electronically transmitting selected plant parameters to the NRC during a site emergency.

PG&E responded to GL 89-15 in Letter No. DCL-89-290, dated November 20, 1989, and stated an interest to participate in the ERDS program on a volunteer  ;

basis. The NRC confirmed PG&E's participation in the program in a letter dated March 5,1990, which also transmitted survey information and Data Point Library Reference forms.  ;

PG&E is submitting the following implementation plan to supplement information (such as the completed NRC survey questionnaire) previously transmitted to the i NRC under the voluntary ERDS implementation program. The plan reflects j best-estimate dates and is sufficiently flexible to ensure complete  ;

implementation of the ERDS by the required date of February 13,_1993. )
