SUMMARY

Unit 2 began October in Mode 1 (Power Operation) at approximately 100 percent power. On October 3, 2004, operators initiated a planned ramp of the unit to approximately 50 percent power in order to remove biofouling from the main condenser tube sheet and water box. On October 4, 2004, following maintenenace, operators initiated a ramp to return the unit to approximately 100 percent power. On October 25, 2004, after 559 days at power, operators separated Unit 2 from the grid to begin refueling outage 12. Unit 2 ended the month in Mode 6 (Refueling).
