Enclosure I PG&E Letter DCL-04-044 MARCH 2004, OPERATION SUMMARIES DIABLO CANYON POWER PLANT UNITS I AND 2 Summary of Unit 1 Operation Unit 1 began the month in Mode 1 (Power Operation) at approximately 85 percent power. On March 22, 2004, after 461 days at power, operators reduced power, separated the unit from the grid, and manually shut down the reactor to Mode 3 (hot standby) to start refueling outage 12 (1R12). The unit ended the month in No Mode with the core fully off-loaded (defueled).

Summary of Unit 2 Operation Unit 2 remained in Mode 1, at approximately 100 percent power, during March 2004.

There were no significant operational activities.

Actuations of Pressurizer Safety or Power-Operated Relief Valves There were no challenges to the pressurizer power-operated relief valves, pressurizer safety valves, or steam generator safety valves.
