ATTACHMENT A VERMONT YANKEE RESPONSE TO THE OPERATIONAL SAFEGUARDS RESPONSE EVALUATION (OSRE) REPORT This attachment contains the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corporation (VYNPC) response to the issue identified in the USNRC OSRE report TAC No. M89698, dated September 14, 1994. VYNPC concurs with the NRC position on the identified issue and has initiated the following corrective action noted below.
ISSUE:
Under one specific set of circumstances, a significant number of response force members might not be able to reach their deployment positions.
CORRECTIVE ACTION:
VYNPC is purchasing several reinforced concrete structures (planters) to be strategically placed in the area identified in the above issue. The structures will provide a protective corridor for responding security force personnel. Similar structures are currently being used in the same general application at a consulate building located in Washington, DC. The procurement and installation of these structures will be completed no later than the end of this calendar year, December 31,1994.
