NRC-2018-0017-DRAFT-0059 Comment on FR Doc # 2018-05776 Submitter Information Name: Irwin Spirn Address: 3500 Bahia Blanca W, unit 3G Laguna Woods, CA, 92637 Email: ispirn@yahoo.com General CommentI am a retired physicist residing in Laguna Woods. I am very concerned about the adequacy of the nuclear waste containers cu rrently being employed for th e closed San Onofre reactor facility. The 5/8 inch thick steel would appear to offe r long term problems for what is now, and will likely remain, a heavily populated area. If, and when, such containment reveals its inadequacy there will be little options available to pr event major environmental contamination.

Please reconsider current plans so that we can be certain that we have not left our children and grandchildren an irremediable problem. Page 1 of 106/05/2018https://www.fdms.gov/
