NRC-2018-0017-0003 Requirements for the Indefinite Storage of Spent Nuclear Fuel Document:

NRC-2018-0017-DRAFT-0057 Comment on FR Doc # 2018-05776 Submitter Information Name: Joel Goldstein General Comment The present SONGS storage plan is too dangerous to be permitted to conti nue. The containers are too thin and only guaranteed for 20 years. The site is too close to th e ocean and too close to sea-level. There is an eart hquake fault in the immediate area. The proposal to move the storage site to one across the I-5 freeway and to much higher, dryer ground makes sense. The government already owns the land. Do not gamble with the safe ty of 8.5 million people in Southern California. Do not enda nger our Marine base and Navy facilities in proximity to the present site; this is thus a matter of National security.
