In Reference (J), Vermont Yankee requested the NRC to reconsider the Staff's position as detailed in Reference (1) regarding incorporation of existing leakago detection commitments from plant procedures into the plant Technical Specifications relative to Generic Letter 88-01 as the subject of a formal bacMit analysis under 10CFR50.109.

I NRC has agrood to provide Vermont Yankoo the following: (1) NRC's technical basis for the Staff's positi-n that the leakage detection commitments of Generic Lettor 8841 must resido in plant Technical Specifications, and (2) NRC's assessment of Vermont Yankoo's '

altemate proposal and technical basis as provided in Reference (g). Upon Receipt of this additional information, Vermont Yankee will then reconsider our position regarding our leakago detection commitments relative to Generic Lotter 88 01.
