- NOTICE OF VIOLATION ,

Long Island Lighting Company Docket No. 50-322 Shoreham Nuclear Power Statibn License Nor NPF-36 During an inspection from March I to April 15, 1986, and in<accordance with the revised NRC Enforcement Policy (10 CFR 2, Appendix C), published in the Federal Register on March 8, 1984 (49 FR 8583)e the following violation was identified.

Technical Specification 6.8.1 requires " Written procedures shall be est'blished, a implemented, and maintained covering the activities referenced below:

The applicable procedures recommended in Appendix A of Regulatory Guide 1.33, Revision 2, February 1978" Regulatory Guide 1.33, Revision 2, February 1978, Section 9.a states "Maint4 nance that can effect the performance of safety related equipment 3 should b'e properly preplanned and performed in accordance with written

procedures, documented instructions, or drawings...",

Contrary to the above requirements, work performed on EDG103 under Main-tenance Work Request No. 86-0746 on April 15, 1986 was coEpleted without evidence of a written procedure or job plan to describe the work procedure.

Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to exten, ding this response time.
