I have reviewed the subject letter in which the licensee requested the clarificaticn of staff positico, SEP 'Ibpic III-6, Safety Evaluaticn Report.

Ancrg eleven itms of the licensee's requested clarificaticm, three of the are related to the structural area. 'Iberefore, the results of the review for these three itms are as follows:

SEP Tcoic III-6. Safety Evaluaticn Reoort

1. Pace 10. Section 4.3.4(1): "Verificaticn of grouting in Inascnry walls where antor bolts and strap anchors were installed."

'Ihe licensee did not agree that it has meitted to verifying the grouting of anchor bolts. After reviewirg the 'Ibtnical Evaluaticn Report (TER) (Ref. 2) and Supplement to the TER, we ocnclu$e that in both reports we did not request the licensee to verify the grmting of the anchor bolts. 'Iherefore, we agree with the licensee's positicn.

2. Pace 16. Section 4.3.13: "YAEC has crmuitted to perforin the analysis

[ Main Stem /Feedwater) in 1987 and to inpleent any racrhi nodificaticns in 1988."

Scheduling of occpleticn of any task by the licensee is the NRC's jurisdicticn.

3. Pace 16. Section 4.3.13: "Ib this end, YAEC rymnitted (Reference 41) to subnit the analysis report (for Main Stean/Feedwater] for staff's review when ocupleted."

After reviewirg the Tbchnical Evaluaticn Report (TER) (Ref. 2) ard Supplanent to the Tm, we ocrclude that in both reports we did not request the licensee to verify the groutirq of the anchor bolts. Therefore, we agree with the licensee's positico.
