Subj ect: Clinton Power Station Emergency Notification System Per your request dated January 14, 1985, Illinois Power Company (IPC) is providing the attached design information regarding the Clinton Power Station (CPS) Emergency Notification System (ENS). This design information was developed in accordance with direction received from Mr. S. Cohen (Telecommunications Branch), Ms. L. Kers (Region III) and Ms. A. Blaney (AT&T).

. Clinton Power Station (CPS)

Emergency Notification System (ENS)

CPS requires one Wescom 293-005937 (NR6) package to be installed in the PBX room, in the basement of the Service Building (EL. 722'-0").

rhe ENS phones located in the Main Control Room (MCR) and the Technical Support Center (TSC) will be hard wired from this NR6 package. The MCR and TSC.are located in the Control Building (EL. 800'-0"). In the MCR, the ENS phone shall be installed on Panel 870 (BOP Bench board),

approximately 3' from the plant east end of the. panel. The ENS phone in the TSC shall~be installed on the plant south wall of the TSC, approximately 13'-9" from the plant east wall.

Likewise, one Wescom 293-005939 (NR7) package is to be installed in the PBX room, which is located in the basement of the Service Building (EL. 722'-0"). The ENS phone in the Resident Inspector's Office will be hard wired from this NR7 package. The Resident Inspector's Office is.

located approximately 100' plant south of the Service Building. The ENS phone in the Resident Inspector's Office shall be located at the direction of the Resident Inspector.

One Wescom 293-005940 (NR8) package is required at CPS. The NR8 package will be installed in the Badge Issue Area, Room #1 in the Permanent Warehouse. The ENS phone in the Emergency Operations Facility (EOF) will be hard wired from this NR8 package. The ENS phone in the EOF shall be installed in the Decision Making Arca approximately 19' from the plant east wall and approximately 23' from the plant south wall.

CPS onsite telephone cabling is leased from GTE. Therefore, the necessary ENS lines needed at CPS must also be leased from GTE.

Illinois Power Co (IPC) will provide the raceway and conduit for required ENS cabling.
