Subject:

Clinton Power Station (CPS) Unit 1 Fire Rating Test Safety Evaluation Report (SER) Confirmatory Issue #58

Dear Mr. Schwencer:

In letter U-0629, dated April 4, 1983, Illinois Power (IP) committed to provide the results of a fire test conducted on insulation wrap for duct work.

The test determined the fire resistance capabilities of the duct insulation wrap, and the results of this test are reported in the Attachment. The report states that both analytical and test results satisfy the duct insulation wrap requirements for the 3-hour-fire-rating as defined by ASTM-E119.

This submittal should close out our commitment associated with this fire test in Confirmatory Issue #58. Please contact us should you require additional information.

Sincere yours F. A. pan nbe i Director - Nuclear Licensing and Configuration Nuclear Station Engineering l
