(Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2)

Dear Judges 1 bore,

Buck, and Eilperin:

This is to confinn the conmitments made by the Commnwealth in my telephone call to you on Friday, September 10, 1982. These same comnitments were conveyed to counsel for the Applicant and the IRC Staff by telephone the same day.

The Connunwealth will transfer sufficient quantities of CD V-742 (0-200R) dosimeters to the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station risk and support counties to provide tw CD V-742 dosimeters to each emergency worker responding to a radiological incident at the Susquehanna plant.

This transfer will be accomplished as expeditiously as practicable.

The Conmonwealth has decided not to transfer CD '/-730 (0-20R) dosimeters from TMI risk counties to Susquehanna risk counties due to the continuing risk at 'IMI, and because CD V-730 dosimeters for two '1MI risk counties are also intended for use during a radiological incident at the Peach Bottom facility. (York and Lancaster Counties). However, the Commnwealth will nuke special provisions to transport these supplies of CD V-730 dosimeters to the Susquehanna risk counties in the event of an incident at the Susquehanna facility.

Counsel for the Applicant has stipulated that the solicitation of these cocmitments by the Appeal Board does not constitute an exercise of the Board's sua sponte authority for purposes of paragraph 6(c) of the Stipulation of Withdrawal of Exceptions filed jointly by the Applicant and the Conronwealth.
