20555 SUSQUEHANNA SITE INQUIRY FROM PROFESSOR ROBERT R.
SOLENBERGER BLOOMSBURG STATE COLLEGE
Dear Mr. Sells:
I have recently received a copy of a letter to you from Prof. Robert R. Solenberger dated 17 April 1980.
The letter was written with regard to archaeological work at Pennsylvania Power and Light Company's Susquehanna Site near Berwick, Pennsylvania.
I would like only to reinforce what Pennsylvania Power and Light Company has undoubtedly already stated.
The Company has consistently maintained a cooperative attitude with regard to this project area.
They permitted survey in 1967; they funded archaeological work in 1978; and, they have now contracted Gilbert Associates to do further survey of the Pond Hill site and the open fields west of the Susquehanna River.
It would seem to me that they have met their obligations and are continuing to do so with regard to the contract with Gilbert Associates.
The State Archaeologist has been in communication with representatives from Gilbert Associates and will be on site when testing begins.
Sincerely yours~
