Specifically, I coordinate licensing actions for the Kewaunee Power Station. I acquired this assignment from my direct predecessor, Peter Tam, at the end of June of this year.

This message documents a call placed to you at approximately 3:00 PM, Central Time, on September 23, 2010, to advise you of a licensing action that we are processing. My communication to you is in accordance with 10CFR50.91(b), State Consultation. You need not respond to this message, but if you wish to comment or seek clarification of this message, please reply to this email or contact me at 301-415-3079.

My contact with you will be cited in the licensing and environmental assessment documents to be issued in support of the licensing action, an amendment to the Kewaunee Power Station license identified by the primary Task Assignment Control (TAC) No. ME2139 and subordinate TAC numbers, omitted here for conciseness, which will appear in the final documentation.

By letter dated Aug 24, 2009 (Agencywide Documents and Management System (ADAMS)

Accession No. ML092440398), as supplemented, Dominion Energy Kewaunee (DEK, the licensee) requested changes to the technical specifications (TS) for the Kewaunee Power Station (KPS). The proposed changes would revise the current technical specifications (CTS) to the improved technical specifications (ITS). We identify this type of licensing action as an ITS Conversion.

The issued documentation for TAC ME2139 will provide detailed information on the requirements, documents and processes that were reviewed and affected by the ITS Conversion at Kewaunee Power Station. NUREG 1431, Revision 3.0, Standard Technical Specifications - Westinghouse Plants., (accessible for review via ADAMS Accession No. ML062510073), as modified in the course of processing this licensing action, provides a comprehensive view of the breadth of affected requirements, systems and processes.
