ILLINOl5 62525-1805 Docket No. 50-461 July 5, 1983 Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Attention: Mr. A. Schwencer, Chief Licensing Branch No. 2 Division of Licensing U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington , D.C. 20555

Dear Mr. Schwencer:

Subj ect : Clinton Power Station, Unit 1 Emergency Response Capability Implementation Schedule

Reference:

IP letter dated June 6, 1983 (U-0642), G. E. Wuller to A. Schwencer, NRC, subject: Supplement 1 to NUREG-0737 The Emergency Response Capability Implementation Plan (ERCIP)

Schedule for the implementation of emergency response initiatives at the Clinton Power Station was provided in the referenced letter.

In a phone conversation with Dr. Harvey Abelson and Ms. Ann Ramey-Smith on June 27, 1983, questions concerning the schedule were discussed.

At the request of Ms. Ramey-Smith, the date for the submittal of the Control Room Review Program Plan was changed to January 1, 1985, and the submittal date for the Summary Report was changed to July 1, 1985. The start of control room review is scheduled for December 1, 1984.

Attachment 1, the ERCIP Schedule and Attachment 2, the Emergency Response Capability Submittals were revised to reflect the new dates.

We will be happy to answer any questions concerning the Emergency Response Capability Implementation Plan or Schedule.

Sincerely,

/

G. E. Wuller Supervisor-Licensing Nuclear Station Engineering PJT/GEW/lt
