SUBJECT:

Remedial Exercise Report of the June 28, 1988, Remedial Exerc.i se for the Surry Power Station Attached is a copy of the remedial exercise evaluation report for the deficiency identified during the October 8, 1987, exercise of offsite radiological emergency preparedness plans for the Surry Power Station.

The remedial demonstration was performed in conjunction with the exercise of the offsite radiological emergency preparedness plans for the North Anna Power Station. The deficiency regarding the delay on the part of the Director of Operations and the State Emergency Operations Center staff in approving and implementing protective action recommendations was satisfactorily corrected.

Therefore, based on the results of the exercise and the remedial exercise, the offsite radiological emergency plans are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect the

. health and safety of the public in the event of an accident at the Surry Power Station, and the 44 CFR 350 approval granted on February 23, 1983, remains in effect.
