VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY SURRY POWER STATION UNIT 2 STEAM GENERATOR TUBE INSPECTION REPORT Planned inservice inspection of the Surry Unit 2 "A" steam generator was completed during the spring 1999 Refueling Outage.
In accordance with Surry Power Station Technical Specification 4.19.F.a, this letter provides notification of the number of steam generator tubes that were plugged during the outage. The. following nine tubes were plugged:
Steam Generator "A" Row Column 1

38 Specifics Tube was preventively plugged because it would not allow passage of a standard 0.720 inch eddy current probe. This tube did allow passage of a 0.680 inch eddy current probe.
The tube was examined to the extent practicable and no defects were found.
Plugged fc;>r a pit-like indication on the cold leg side of the steam generator at 2.44 inches above the tube sheet..
Plugged for two pit-like indications on the cold leg side of the steam generator at 2.3 and 3.2 inches above the tube sheet.
Plugged for two pit-like indications on the cold leg side of the steam generator at 3.8 and 4.2 inches above the tube sheet.
