Mr. John F. Stolz November 30, 1979 Code Case N-240 was reviewed and accepted without comment by the NRC representatives to the ASME Council (Messrs. R. J.

Bosnak and G. A. Arlotto). Furthermore, we are aware that NRC deemed it acceptable for Commonwealth Edison Company to use ASME Code Case N-240 at the LaSalle County Station.

Please advise us as soon as possible if you have any questions on our request to use this code case or its intended applications.

We would certainly appreciate an early NRC approval of this code case for the Clinton Power Station.
