The League of Women Voters of San Luis Obispo has shared Nith 'f yJY me a June 1,1981 letter to the NRC regarding the licensin'gof '

the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant.

Commenting on the possible issuance of a low-power license for the plant, the League expresses concern about the adequacy of emergency procedures and public information on those procedures; Pacific Gas 5 Electric's compliance with all TMI safety-related requirements; and the policy for granting a full-power license once a low-power license has been issued. In the letter, the League also requests specific additional information re TMI safety issues and procedures for full-power licensing.

I hope the Commission will respond carefully and promptly to the questions submitted by the San Luis Obispo League, which raise concerns of general public interest.

I'd appreciate receiving a copy of the NRC response to the League's l

inquiries, and hope the Commission will give careful consideratica to the issues the League raises.

Many thanks.

Sincer y, pSCI Alan r ston g
