SUMMARY
OF THE APRIL 26, 2006, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE DRESDEN END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT On April 26, 2006, a public meeting was held at the Grundy County Administration Building in Morris, Illinois between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the Dresden Nuclear Power Station management and staff. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss NRCs assessment of the performance of the Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 2 and 3, for the period of January 1, 2005, through December 31, 2005.
The NRC presentation provided an overall assessment of the Dresden Stations performance as described in NRCs Annual Assessment Letter - Dresden Nuclear Power Station, dated March 2, 2006, (reference ADAMS accession number ML060610207). The Dresden Station, Units 2 and 3, operated in a manner that preserved public health and safety and fully met all cornerstone objectives.
Mr. Danny Bost, Dresden Site Vice President, responded on behalf of the licensee and Dresden Nuclear Power Station. Mr. Bost provided overview information on the station accomplishments for 2005 with particular emphasis on the dual unit service water system outage and the record low radiation exposure for the station. Mr. Bost also discussed the stations challenges and goals going forward.
The meeting notice and NRC presentation can be found in ADAMS as ML060890762 and ML061300081, respectively. A list of meeting participants can be found in the attached Enclosure.
Before adjourning the meeting, the NRC provided the opportunity for members of the audience to ask questions.
