SUMMARY

OF MARCH 30, 2006, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITH FPL ENERGY SEABROOK On March 30, 2005, at 6:30 p.m., an Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Inn of Hampton, Hampton, NH, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and FPL Energy Seabrook, LLC (Seabrook). The NRC requested the meeting with Seabrook management to discuss the NRCs assessment of the safety performance of the Seabrook nuclear power plant for calendar year 2005.

The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Seabrook Unit 1 for the period between January 1 through December 31, 2005. The NRC presentations included a discussion of the reactor oversight process, general background on the plant, performance assessment results, and an overview of calendar year 2006 planned inspections.

As part of this annual assessment meeting, Seabrook presented an overview of their performance and initiatives in selected areas.

The public observed this meeting and was offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding Seabrooks performance and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations. At the end of the meeting between the NRC and Seabrook, the NRC answered questions from the public which included the design of spent fuel storage facilities and security issues that occurred during 2005.
