Baer, Chief Light Water Reactors Branch No. 2 Division of Project Management U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission 7920 Norfolk Avenue Bethesda, Maryland 20852 Re: Docket No. STN 50-437; Component Cooling Water Supply to Reactor Coolant Pumps

Dear Mr. Baer:

This letter is in response to your letter of August 9, 1978, which provided NRC Staff guidelines concerning component cooling water supply to the reactor coolant pumps. This same subject was included as a " Category IV" matter in Enclosure 4 to Mr. Roger S. Boyd's letter of October 12, 1978. As stated in my letter of October 31, 1978, and agreed to in Mr. Harold R. Denton's letter of December 22, 1978, the " Category IV" matters will be addressed by Offshore Power Systems during the final design review stage.

Ver truly y urs,

'
