As a result of a telephone conversation with Mr. Mike Mallory on September 9,1981, item 1.a of my letter FNP-PST-073 (dated September 2,1981) is modified to read as follows:

With regard to Generic Issue A-24:
a.
Safet?.-related equipment will be qualified in accordance with NUREG-0588, Category 1 require-ments.
Seismic qualification will be conducted in accordance with IEEE 344-1975.
We believe this commitment to be fully responsive to the Staff's request and trust that SER Supplement 4 will not be further delayed because of this issue.
