June 12, 2019 Enclosure A Page 2 of 2 Revision of SLRA Section B.2.1.29 for Internal Coatings Affected SLRA Sections:
Section B.2.1.29 SLRA Page Numbers: B-163 Issue: SLRA Table 3.3.2-13, "Emergency Service Water System," identifies stainless steel with internal coating as included within the scope of the program; however, SLRA Section B.2.1.29 does not include stainless steel. Description of Change: SLRA Table 3.3.2-13, "Emergency Service Water System," includes, under component type "Piping, piping components with Internal Coatings," the material "Stainless Steel (with Internal Coating)." The Peach Bottom Emergency Service Water System contains flow elements that are stainless steel with an internal coating. As discussed in the issue statement above, this material type was not included in the list of materials provided in SLRA Section B.2.1.29.
Accordingly, SLRA Section B.2.1.29, Page B-163, is revised as shown below to include the material type "stainless steel." B.2.1.29 Internal Coatings/Linings for In-Scope Piping, Piping Components, Heat Exchangers, and Tanks Program Description The Internal Coatings/Linings for In-Scope Piping, Piping Components, Heat Exchangers, and Tanks aging management program is a new condition monitoring program that includes visual inspections of internal coatings/linings of cast iron, ductile iron, stainless steel, and carbon steel piping, piping components, valve bodies, tanks, heat exchangers, accumulators, and blower housings exposed to raw water, treated water, waste water, condensation, and lubricating oil. There are no piping or components with internal coatings/linings in the program scope that are exposed to closed-cycle cooling water, treated borated water, or fuel oil. This program is not used to manage the integrity of coatings applied to external surfaces of piping or components.
