SUMMARY

OF MARCH 30, 2006, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITHFPL ENERGY SEABROOKOn March 30, 2005, at 6:30 p.m., an Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Inn ofHampton, Hampton, NH, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and FPL EnergySeabrook, LLC (Seabrook). The NRC requested the meeting with Seabrook management todiscuss the NRC's assessment of the safety performance of the Seabrook nuclear power plantfor calendar year 2005.The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of SeabrookUnit 1 for the period between January 1 through December 31, 2005. The NRC presentationsincluded a discussion of the reactor oversight process, general background on the plant, performance assessment results, and an overview of calendar year 2006 planned inspections.

As part of this annual assessment meeting, Seabrook presented an overview of their performance and initiatives in selected areas.The public observed this meeting and was offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding Seabrook's performance and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plantoperations. At the end of the meeting between the NRC and Seabrook, the NRC answeredquestions from the public which included the design of spent fuel storage facilities and securityissues that occurred during 2005.
