SUMMARY
OF THE MARCH 2010 ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING CONSTELLATION On March 23, 2010, at 5:00 p.m., the NRC conducted an Annual Assessment Meeting at the Ontario Town Hall in Ontario, NY. The NRC requested the meeting with Constellation Energy management to discuss the NRC's assessment of safety performance of the R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant for 2009. The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Ginna for the period between January 1 through December 31,2009. The NRC presentation included information on the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP) and the results of NRC's performance assessment for Ginna. As part of this regulatory performance meeting, Constellation presented its perspective regarding the plant's performance and operational goals for 2010. The public was invited to observe this meeting. At the end of the meeting between the NRC and Constellation, public attendees were offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding Constellation's performance at Ginna and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
Questions from the public and Jocal officials were addressed by the NRC. The NRC's assessment letter can be found in ADAMS with an Accession Number of ML100620833.
