Dear Mr. Thomas:

Bernard, " Meeting with Illinois Power Company on Equipment Qualification of Safety-Related Equipment" (2) Illinois Power Letter.U-0513 dated July 16, 1982, G. E. Wuller to H. Bernard, "Clinton Power Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-461" Clinton Power Station Unit 1 Environmental Qualification and Seismic Qualification Review Team' Audits This is to confirm Illinois Power's preparedness for an Environmental Qualification audit by the NRC, as currently scheduled by Reference (1), for January, 1983. The week of January 17, 1983, is suggested. Please provide a proposed I schedule for this audit.

The Seismic Qualification Review Team (SQRT) audit is tenta-

tively scheduled for March, 1983. It appears that the eighty-five percent equipment installation criteria will not be satisfied by this date. Further, it is not yet clear when these criteria can be met. Information summaries will continue to be submitted in FSAR Sections 3.9 and 3.10, and seismic / dynamic qualification i packages will be completed on a high priority basis. You will be kept advised of progress in this regard.
