R-47, CS-10, and SNM-778 fcr the Lynchburg Pool Reactor, Critical Facility, and Lynchburg Research Center facilities, and to the dise.ussion of our                  l findings held with Dr. T. C. Engelder at the conclusion of the inspection.
The insnection was an examination of the artivities conducted under your                1 l
License as they relate to radiation safety and to compliance with the Commission's rules and regulations and the conditions of your license.                  i
            %e inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, intervi?ws with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
We have examined actions you have taken with regard to previously reported unresolved items. The status of these items is discussed in the enclosed report.
Two new unresolved items resulted from this inspection and are discussed in the enclosed report. These items will be examined during subsequent inspections.
During the inspection it was found that certain activities under          your This item f icense appear to Le in noncompliance with NRC requirements.
and references to pertinent requirements are listed in the Notice of Violation enclosed herewith as Appendix A. Corrective actions to prevent recurrence'were completed prior to the conclusion of this inspection; therefore, a reply is not requested.

Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room. If th'.; report contains any information that you (or your contractor) believe to be proprietary, it is necessary that you make a written application within 20 days to this office to withhold such information f rom public disclosure. Any such apolication must include a full statement of the reasons on the basis t' which it is claimed that the information is proprietary, and shoulo be prepared so that proprietary information identified in the application is contained in a separate part of the document. If we do not hear from you in this regard within the specified period, the report will be placed in the Public Document Room.
