By letter to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) dated October 23, 2008 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML083100149), Exelon Generation Company, LLC, submitted a request to replace the current accident source term used in design-basis radiological analysis with an alternative source term pursuant to Title 10 of  '
the Code of Federal Regulations Part 50.67, "Accident Source Term," for the LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2.
The NRC staff is reviewing your submittal and has determined that additional information is required to complete the review. The specific information requested is addressed in the enclosure to this letter. During a discussion with your staff on October 19, 2009, it was agreed that you would provide a response 30 days from the date of this letter.

REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION LASALLE COUNTY STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-373 AND 50-374 In reviewing the Exelon Generation Company's (Exelon's) submittal dated October 23, 2008 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML083100149),
related to the request to replace the current accident source term used in design-basis radiological analysis with an alternative source term pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 50.67, "Accident Source Term," for the LaSalle County Station (LSCS), Units 1 and 2, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff has determined that the follOWing information is needed in order to complete its review:
Electrical Engineering Branch
: 1. Provide the loading sequence for each emergency diesel generator (EDG) at LSCS. In your response, describe the changes that have been made to the EDG loading sequence to support this license amendment request (LAR).
: 2. Describe how the loads being added to the LSCS EDGs (if applicable) affect the capability and capacity of the EDGs (e.g., describe the impact of the proposed change on the EDG ratings).
: 3. Describe how the operators will be notified in the event that the standby liquid control (SLC) system would become inoperable (e.g., control room annuciators).
: 4. Describe how the SLC system meets single failure criteria electrically.
: 5. Provide a list and description of components being added to your 10 CFR 50.49 program due to this LAR (if applicable). Confirm that these components are qualified for the environmental conditions they are expected to be exposed to.
: 6. The licensee proposed utilizing the SLC system to buffer suppression pool pH to prevent iodine re-evolution during a postulated release. Describe the impact of the above proposed actions on environmental conditions (such as temperature, pressure) and any impact on equipment qualification.
