OF DISCUSSION ON JULY 29, 2010, BETWEEN DOMINION ENERGY KEWAUNEE, INC. AND THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION TO DISCUSS DOMINION RESPONSE TO RAI ON STEAM GENERATOR DIVIDER PLATE (TAC NO. MD9408)
On July 29, 2010, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) conducted a telephone conference call (teleconference) with representatives from Dominion Energy Kewaunee, Inc. (DEK or the applicant). Applicant invited representatives from Westinghouse, EPRI, and PSE&G Salem Nuclear Plant to also listen in/participate on the call. The staff requested the call in order to obtain a better understanding of applicants Request for Additional Information (RAI) Response dated July 22, 2010, to RAI 3.1.2.2.13-01, Cracking Due to PWSCC in SG Divider Plates, as staff continues to review applicants response.
Staff, the applicant, and certain of applicants invitees discussed applicants RAI response. Staff stated that it is continuing to evaluate applicants RAI response, and that follow-up RAIs on the issue could be forthcoming in order to fully resolve the issue as it relates to applicants license renewal application for the Kewaunee Power Station.
