REVISION OF SCHEDULE FOR THE CONDUCT OF REVIEW OF THE KEWAUNEE POWER STATION LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (TAC NO. MD9408)

Dear Mr. Heacock:

Enclosed is a revised review schedule for the Kewaunee Power Station license renewal application (LRA). This schedule has been revised to reflect the impacts on the conduct of the review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) as a result of a recent amendment that included substantial changes to the information presented in the LRA.

The amendment was submitted in response to a public meeting that the staff conducted with representatives from Dominion Energy Kewaunee, Inc. (DEK) on July 28, 2009; regarding the use of an aging management program (AMP) for which the staff needed additional information to complete its review. During the meeting, DEK indicated that it intended to amend the LRA to make the AMP in question consistent with the recommendations contained in the Generic Aging Lessons Learned Report. A summary of the July 28, 2009 meeting is available in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) under accession number ML092100612. The ADAMS Public Electronic Reading Room is accessible at http://adamswebsearch.nrc.gov/dologin.htm.

If you have any questions on the revised schedule, please contact me by telephone at 301-415-4049 or by e-mail at Samuel.Hernandez@nrc.gov.

Sincerely,

/RA/
