SUMMARY OF PUBLIC MEETING On June 7, 2017, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a public meeting at the Best Western Plus, The Inn at Hampton in Hampton, New Hampshire. During the meeting, NRC staff presented the Agency's assessment of the safety performance at Seabrook Station for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2016. The staff also presented information regarding NRC's inspections of alkali silica reaction (ASR)-impacted concrete in 2016, the NRC's review of the ASR license amendment request, and an update on the status of license renewal. The meeting presentation is an enclosure to this meeting summary and can be accessed from the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) under Accession No. ML17164A271.
 
Members of the public, State and local officials, elected officials, and members of the media participated in the meeting. The staff responded to inquiries regarding NextEra's performance, the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations, and the NRC's reviews of NextEra's actions to address the effects of ASR in concrete structures at Seabrook Station. Additionally, meeting participants inquired about the results of the radiological monitoring of effluents from the site.
