By letter (LES-18-0150-NRC) dated May 30, 2018, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession Number ML18157A073), Louisiana Energy Services, LLC dba URENCO USA (UUSA), submitted an allowance to feed Uranium Hexafluoride (UF6) greater than O.72 wt % Uranium 235 (235U), but less than 1 wt. % 235U amendment application for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff review and approval. The NRC staff performed an acceptance review of your application to determine if the application contains sufficient technical information to allow the NRC staff to complete the detailed technical review.
The purpose of this letter is to advise you, based on the NRC staffs acceptance review, the application does not contain sufficient technical information or information on whether an environmental review is required. The information needed to continue the NRC staffs review is described in the enclosed Request for Supplemental Information (RSI). The RSI requests supplemental information on: 1) the impact of the proposed change on system margins, and 2) a description of the affected resources for evaluation of potential impacts to the environment.
The NRC staff requests a clarification meeting or teleconference to provide UUSA with the opportunity to discuss the RSI and to establish a specific date that any supplemental information will be submitted to support the NRCs timely review.
UUSA has the option to withdraw its application pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Part 2.107 and resubmit its application to address the deficiencies. If UUSA elects this option, the NRC requests a written response dated no later than 30 calendar days from the date of this letter documenting UUSAs decision, including the date that it expects to resubmit a new amendment application. Please note that an acceptance review will be conducted for future submittals (supplement to address the enclosure or resubmitted application).

When separated from Enclosure, this letter is decontrolled.
