Callaway Plant MISSOURI December 8, 2022 ULNRC-06787 U. S Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555-0001 10 CFR 50.90 Ladies and Gentlemen:

DOCKET NUMBER 50-483 CALLAWAY PLANT UNIT 1 UNION ELECTRIC CO.

RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NPF-30 RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST FOR ADOPTION OF ALTERNATE SOURCE TERM AND REVISION OF TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (LDCN 21-0015) on September 28, 2021 and per Reference 1 included in the list of references on page 3 of this letter, Ameren Missouri submitted a license amendment request (LAR) for adopting the alternative source term methodology addressed in 1 0 CFR 50.67 and Regulatory Guide 1 1 83 Rev 0, Alternative Radiological Source Terms for Evaluating Design Basis Accidents at Nuclear Power Reactors.

Following several letters related to the NRCs acceptance review ofthe LAR (including LAR supplements submitted by Ameren Missouri), a request for additional information (RAT) was electronically received (via e-mail) from the NRC on October 14, 2022 (Reference 3). The RAT identified discrepancies between the results obtained from the NRC staffs confirmatory runs of its ARCON2 dispersion model and those provided by Ameren Missouri and its contractor (in the Reference 1 LAR and the letter identified as Reference 2 on page 3) using the ARCON96-NAT model.

Those discrepancies have now been addressed.

This letter is submitted to provide corrected results to the NRC staff and respond to the staffs requests for additional information contained in the Reference 3 letter.

In accordance with 1 0 CFR 50.9 1 Notice for public comment; State consultation, Section (b)(l), a copy of this supplement to the Reference 1 LAR is being provided to the designated Missouri State official. This supplement was reviewed by the Callaway Plant Onsite Review Committee.
