Report - " Field Test of Emergency Diesel Generator 101" Shoreham Nuclear Power Station - Unit 1 Docket No. 50-322

Dear Mr. Denton:

Enclosed please find six (6) copies of the report entitled " Field Test of Emergency Diesel Generator 101". This report contains the experimental results of field tests that were carried out on Diesel Generator 101 at the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station (prior to repair).

The data contained in this report was used by Failure Analysis Associates (FaAA) in its investigation of the crankshaft failure on Diesel Generator 102. The FaAA failure investigation is documented by report number FaAA-83-10-1, " Emergency Diesel Generator-Crankshaft Failure Investigation". Copies of this latter report were provided to the NRC at a November 3, 1983 public meeting between the NRC and LILCO held at Shoreham, and subsequently distributed by the NRC as part of Board Notification 83-160A, " Supplemental Information Concerning Transamerica DeLaval (TDI) Emergency Diesel Generators.
