_b i 1.0 PURPOSE j To establish experience, qualification, training and retraining requirements such that Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance ,

personnel have the experience, knowledge and skills necessary to l achieve and maintain the proficiency required to carry out their ,

responsibilities. The appropriate Training Procedures (TP) describe course content and administration, {

j 2.0 APPLICABILITY I This procedure applies to all Mechanical and Electrical l Maintenance personnel, fuel handlers (Special Senior Licensed  !

l Operators) and department supervisory personnel, including the i l Superintendent of Maintenance and Maintenance Supervisors.

3.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 EXPERIENCE l 3.1.1 *#*7.1*#* All Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance personnel shall meet the appropriate '

requirements of ANSI N18.1 - 1971 (Section 4.5.3) prior to assignment to " responsible positions."

(3 For the purpose of this procedure " responsible V position" is defined as independent shift coverage for classified mechanics including millwrights, machinists, welders and fuel handlers, and electrician specialists. This shall be documented l on MAP-4, Attachments 8 and D.

l 3.1.2 *#*7.1*#* All candidates for the Special Senior Licensed Operator (SSLO)' license for fuel handlers shall meet the appropriate requirements of

ANSI N18.1-1971 (Section 4.5.1) prior to assignment to " responsible positions". For the purpose of this procedure'" responsible position" is defined as independent shift coverage for SSLO fuel handlers acting as Refueling Floor Supervisors. This shall l be documented on MAP 4, Attachment C.

l 3.1.3 *#*7.1*#* The Maintenance Supervisors and l Superintendent of Maintenance shall meet the l appropriate requirements of ANSI N18.1-1971 prior j to assignment to the position.

3.2 RESPONSIBILITIES 1

~l 3.2.1 The Station Manager is responsible for assuring l that the requirement set forth in this procedure l for the Superintendent of Maintenance is met and -

l documented on the appropriate qualification l checklist. ,

l 3.2.2 The Superintendent of Maintenance is responsible -

l for assuring that the requirements set forth in {

l this procedure for the Maintenance Supervisor,. ]

j l Electrician, Electrician Specialist; Mechanical  ;

j Maintenance Classified Mechanic, Fuel Handler,  !

l Millwright, Machinist, and Welder; and Mechanical l Maintenance Apprentice are met and documented on l the appropriate qualification checklist.

l 3.2.3 The Training Section is responsible for the implementation, coordination and documentation of the training program, proper maintenance of all training records transmitted and providing formal instruction as necessary to support the needs of the Maintenance Department. The Training Section i shall also ensure training and retraining is

,O initiated by issuing the appropriate training forms U with the required completion dates.

l 3.2.4 The employee is responsible for the completion of assigned course / text material in the allotted time interval and providing ideas and/or methods of improvement in the administration or content of the training program.

, 3.3 TRAINING / CONTINUING TRAINING REQUIREMENTS 1

Each individual shall complete the training / continuing i training program as described in Section 4.0 of this '

procedure for the level of qualification / classification of the individual.

3.4 TRAINING MATERIAL _S Training materials used, including lesson plans and l examinations shall be prepared and administered in accordance with the Training Management Procedures (TMp).

This ' book documents the Special Senior Licensed Operator (SSLO)

Training Program. It is issued to the trainee at the beginning of the training program and it is the trainee's responsibility to keep this book during instructional periods and obtain the required signatures indicating completion of the lesson. This book will be returned to.the designated training instructor when the course is complete.

Job Performance Measures (JPM) will be returned to the instructor as they are completed. The SSLO Record Book and the JPMs will be kept by the training department for documentation purposes.

1 A program of instruction of academic lessons and associated task l lessons is given in this book. The sequence is not critical in many cases so the instructor may need to' adjust the sequence to meet lab, instructor, and trainee schedules and plant requirements.
