i ENCLOSURE 1 NOTICE OF DEVIATION Georgia Institute of Technology Docket No. 50-160 Research Reactor License No. R-97 The following deviation was identified during a Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection conducted on April 22-23, 1987.

The licensee informed the NRC, in its January 22, 1986, response to Inspection Report No. 50-160/85-04 dated December 18, 1985, that a procedure would be developed within six months to describe notification methods including: the title of the person responsible, the agencies which must be notified for each class of emergency, the time period during which notification must take place, and the information to be provided.

Contrary to the above, by April 23, 1987, the licensee had not developed the procedure.

Please provide in writing within 30 days of the date of this Notice a descrip-tion of corrective actions regarding this deviation, actions taken to avoid further deviations, and the dates when these actions were or will be completed.
