SUMMARY
l South Texas Project Unit 2 began the reporting period operating at full power.
)
l On September 22, at 0932 the unit experienced an automatic reactor trip due to low water level in the 2A l steam generator caused by an inadvertently closed feedwater regulating valve. The unit was returned to l service on September 23, at 0637 and achieved full power on September 26, at 0706.
On September 27, at 0827 the unit began a reactor power coastdov n due to fuel burnup. The process entails a power reduction rate of 1-percent every 36 to 48 hours5.555556e-4 days
0.0133 hours
7.936508e-5 weeks
1.8264e-5 months
.
The unit concluded the reporting period operating at 96-percent reactor power.

Reactor 98-02 980922 F 21.1 11 3 2-98-002 SJ FCV The unit experienced an automatic reactor trip due to decreased water level in the 2A steam generator. The level decrease followed the inadvertent closure of the 2A main feedwater regulating valve during corrective maintenance on the control circuitry of the 2A low power feedwater reguating valve. Work instructions governing the activity were technically incorrect.
Corrective actions include reviewing other similar work, discussing lessons learned and developing a case study.
