SUBJECT:

COORDINATION OF ZIJDIER EFFORT In order to prevent any misunderstandings such as occurred during the initial Zimer investigation I would like to set up a meeting to discuss and delineate tasks to be accomplished, responcibilities of OIA and IE, and co==1tments previously made regarding Zin:ncr investi-gations.

I recommend that the following areas be discussed:

1.

Actions intended by OIA with regard to material they have gathered during their previous efforts.

2.

Planned future actions by OIA and IE.

3.

Responsibilities for contact with Department of Justice personnel, and commitments made to them.

I 4.

Actions expected of the NRC by the Department of Justice.

5.

Retention of original copies of site documents.

6.

Delineation of areas which OIA feels should be investigated, and which organization will perform the investigation.

The conclusions reached in the meeting can then be documented in a memo-l randum of understanding.
