Arlington, Texas 76011 oear Mr. Collins:

River Bend Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-458 On March 29, 1982 Gulf States Utilities Company (GSU) notified your office of a concern potentially reportable under 10CFR50.55(e). The subject of concern was unsatisfactory inspections performed by a former Field Quality Control (FQC) inspector at River Bend Station.

A reevaluation is being conducted of these inspections to determine if any inspections performed by the former FQC inspector were unacceptable and if they had gone undetected, could they have adversely affected the safe operations of the plant. A status report on the evaluation will be provided by August 6, 1982. g
