River Bend Station Unit 1 J Docket No. 50-458 On February 11, 1982, Gulf States Utilities (GSU) notified Region IV of a deficiency potentially reportable under 10CFR50.55(e). In GSU's March 11, 1982, Status Report, GSU committed to provide additional information by April 12, 1982.

The subject deficiency is improperly installed spring nuts found not fully engaged in the cable tray support channel (DR-33). GSU's conclusion on reportability is contingent on the outcome of GSU's investigation into a related spring nut deficiency concerning torquing requirements (DR-41). Region IV was notified of this deficiency (DR-

41) on March 8, 1982. G3U will provide a Status Report of its investigation into improperly installed spring nuts (DR-33) concurrently with its Status Report on torquing requirements (DR-41) l by May 28, 1982.
