Dear Mr. Seyfrit:
River Bend Station - Unit 1 Docket No. 50-458 On December 11, 1981, Gulf States Utilities (GSU) notified the Region IV office of a concern potentially reportable under 10CFR50.55(e) regarding loose mounting screws or fasteners used to assemble or mount the position switch assembly on valve motor operators supplied by Limitorque. The letter is the status report GSU committed to provide by January 11, 1982.
GSU has not completed its investigation of this deficiency. GSU l is working with our A/E and the vendor to determine the appropriate
! corrective action and safety significance, if any. GSU will inform l the NRC of the status of these ef forts by March 12, 1982.
