In Gulf States Utilities' (GSU) November 16, 1981 letter concerning the reportable deficiency with spring nuts, GSU committed to inform your office by December 21, 1981 of the corrective actions to be take r . This letter fulfills that commitment.

GSU approved Stone & Webster Nonconformance and Disposition Report (N&D) 1933 on November 24, 1981 which discontinued further use of defective PS-9227RS-1/2 spring nuts and provided instructions for replacement or modifications where the srring nuts had been~ installed. Implementation of this N&D is in progress and will continue for several months until completion.

This concludes GSU's reporting on this subject.

Very truly yours, w.p & L G 9 p W. J. Cahill, Jr.
