_Fjnal Report /DR-65 On August 6, 1982, Gulf States Utilities Company (GSU) notified the, Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Region IV Office of a condition potentially reportsble under 10CFR50.55(e) concerning cracked, spalled, and chipped I concrete around the main steam and other penetrations through the drywell wall to the steam tunnel at River Bend Station (DR-65). GSU's initial notification was followed by Interim Reports dated August 30, 1982, October 7, 1982, and December 13, 1982.

j GSU's investigation has shown that the concrete around

( the main steam and other penetrations provides sufficient structural strength to resist design loads. Therefore, GSU concludes that had this condition gone undetected it would not have adversely affected the safe operations of the plant and is not reportable under 10CFR50.55(e). This concludes our response on this subject.
