Dear Mr. Reed:

By letter dated October 27, 1982, you forwarded to us your Objections to Applicant's Revised Interrogatories.

Enclosed is a copy of our Motion to Compel responses to the interrogatories to which you objected, which we filed today.

I would like to take this opportunity to address the two matters which you raised in your October 27 forwarding letter. .With respect to the issue of document production requests, the interrogatories which we served on you included the request that you produce for inspection and copying all documents which you identify in your interrogatory answers.

It is therefore unclear what you are referring to in your letter when you say that we already have the referenced documents in our files. Consistent with the Commission's rules of practice, see 10 C.F.R. S 2.741, we simply have requested the opportunity to examine and copy documents you refer to when you respond in the future to our inter-rogatories. Reed November 8, 1982 Page Two since we do not know what, if any, documents you will refer to in your interrogatory answers, we cannot as yet determine whether there will be documents we will need to review and, perhaps, copy.

Secondly, you refer in your letter to the fact that your personal papers "do not have standing in this matter,"

and that you must request that they not be copied or made public. Without waiving our right to formally object to your stance on this subject, which we believe is incorrect, I hope that we can amicably arrange for Mr. Baxter and/or myself to review the lesson plans in question and the letter from Argonne Labs during our next trip to the Fulton area.

At that juncture, we can determine if there is any need for us to obtain a copy of these materials. I wanted to take this opportunity, however, to advise you that we were not in agreement with you on your entitlement to keep these documents private.
